Our Commitment To Sustainability.
A baby will go through around 6000 disposable nappies before graduating to undies. Or 24 reusable nappies.
Every choice matters.
THE PROBLEM WITH PLASTIC
One garbage truck full of plastic enters the oceans every minute, and it's estimated that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. This is one of the reasons we're so passionate about eliminating single-use plastic pollution. Reusable nappies are our solution.
Our promise
We can’t create a sustainable future on our own, but we can make quality products responsibly and with sustainability at the heart of every decision. We hope to inspire more parents and caregivers to choose reusable alternatives, and we're here to support them on their sustainability journey.
A sustainable future is the only future.
Sustainability Practices
CERTIFIED PLASTIC NEUTRAL
EcoNaps is the first reusable nappy in the world to be Certified Plastic Neutral. Every cloth nappy purchased stops the equivalent of 5 plastic bottles from entering the ocean and contributes towards preventing over 5 million single-use plastic bottles from entering our oceans by 2024. When you purchase any EcoNaps product, you help create lasting environmental, social and economic impact.
Supply chain
Our products are designed in Byron Bay and made responsibly in China. Social and sustainable ethics are ingrained in our operations. Our nappy manufacturer holds current certifications from globally recognised ethical third-party auditors GOTS and SEDEX. This ensures that employment is freely chosen with no forced or exploitative child labour. In addition, our factory commits to no excessive working hours and pays wages 20% more than the local average wage.
Pursuing plastic-free shipping
We ship products in 100% plastic-free home compostable satchels, and our swing tags and retail hangers are plastic-free and printed on 100% biodegradable and recyclable card stock. However, there is still some plastic in our supply chain. Traditionally products are shipped from China in individual plastic poly bags, but we've worked hard to reduce this by 90%. While it's a positive step forward, we're striving to ship 100% plastic-free and will keep you updated on our progress in this area.
Raw Materials
We use recycled plastic across our range to help reduce single-use plastic pollution. This is sourced from post-consumer waste in the form of recycled plastic bottles. 95% of all plastic used in our products is from recycled sources. We want to increase this to 100% by the end of 2023. In addition, our fabrics are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified and contain no harmful chemicals.
Every cloth nappy purchased diverts 5 plastic bottles from entering the ocean.
The journey continues
We're proud of our sustainability actions so far, but our journey to do better doesn't end here (or ever!). Along with our sister brands at the Think Better Group, we can reduce our impact and continue to do better for the future of our planet.
